I don't even know if I am doing this the correct way or posting my question correctly, but I am desperate with no where to turn? I have a HUGE problem with no where to turn?? (I tried Alpine already, and they were of no assistance??) My problem is this: I lost the transmitter to my car and now I am unable to start the damn thing!! It's been about 7 years since the car has been started just because I can't get the thing into valet mode?? It's killing me (not to mention the car).. I have an Alpine 8080 alarm system with the lcd transmitter (which of course, I lost).. I just cannot figure out how to shut off the alarm to put it into valet mode?? So the damn thing is blasting in my ear why I am trying every combination I can think of between the key and momentary toggle switch, but the alarm won't shut off?? It is soo frustrating, so please, if anybody out there has the knowledge, then please enlighten my stupid behind?? Thank you so much, I'll be in your debt if you can figure this one out for me??
Seriously Frustrated,

Turn on igniton and flick toggle switch on and off! If it doesn't work, i suggest locating the control module and disconnecting it!

Have you tried a google search for an owner's manual?
Otherwise it's remove and rejoin starter cut if there was one. What vehicle? I'm assuming from your post you can't start the vehicle, also if the battery is flat as a matzo you won't be able to access the alarm any way.

I've searched everywhere for the owners manual to no avail. it's an Alpine 8080 on a 95' Trans Am. The alarm has all the bells and whistles like pain generators, hood lock, pager, back up battery, extended range antenna, and practically every other option that was available at the time like remote start (6 speed manual, but we still got it to work, just can't park it in gear).. All that crap and I cannot start the damn thing?? Forgive my hostility, it's been about 7 years in my garage... very frustrating.. it doesn't have a toggle switch, it has a momentary switch mounted under the hood. I think I need 2 people to valet the thing, but the alarm just goes off and I'm unsure if the momentary switch has to be hit twice, or if there is a sequence? Anyone have a pineapple grenade??

Pineapple grenade! LOL! Some gasoline and a scratch of the matches should do the trick! LOL!

Why don't you just dissconnect it, you won't be able to use it anyway! Seven years you had this thing parked in your gargage without being started, you must have a really big garage! alpine sec 8080 -- posted image.

The only problem with disconnecting the alarm is that it has been mounted under a custom built box that requires complete stripping of the interior to just move the box enough to gain access to the wire harness plugged into the alarm anchored to the underside of the box... (did I say that all in one breath?)... I might just be looking at my most dreaded option? Flat bedding it back to where this infernal machine was conceived and telling the nitwits who preformed the installation to valet me... I was just hoping to save myself the $ by figuring out how to put her into valet mode myself? I figured if I can get my hands on the manual I can figure this thing out, but everywhere I look seems to be a no go? I am even writing to this guy who is selling a brand new 8080 on ebay and am begging him to scan the manual for me? I'm even offering him cash?? What is this world coming to?? The agony... I guess I'm going to have to dust off the old walleto... Or I can always do that gas and a match thing??

It shouldn't cost you much if you dissconnect it yourself! A pair of screwdrivers a nipper some tape and a little common sense and you're set!

I don't think you understand... the install was way too tight.. the only way to gain access to the wire harness that plugs into the alarm would be to remove the interior just so you can move the box and only then can you gain access... custom install comes with custom headaches like this one... but if I had the manual, then I'd probably figure this one out?
