right now i have the 5301 but have to send it back due to bad brain, if i upgrade to the 5701, can i use my exisiting harness from the 5301 and directly plug it into the 5701 or are they different
and besides it being a alarm, what other features does the 5701
and if i do keep the 5301, can i hook up sensors such as tilt and glass to it or is that only for the 5701 and up?

Not really.  The H1, H2, and H3 heavy Gauge Harness are different.  H1 harness has H1/3 as the +siren output, The H2 Harness on the 5701 is a 8 pin connector vs the 5301 is a 7 pin connector, and the H3 Heavy Gauge harness on the 5701 is a 10 pin connector vs the 5301 is a 8 pin connector.

I don't believe the 5301 has any ports to connect any sensors.

I have two cars with the 5301, and a work van with the 5701 in it.  They are pretty much the same as far as features, the 5701 is an alarm/Remote start/Keyless Entry, The 5301 is a Remote Start/Keyless Entry only. No alarm.  They program the same.  I use one remote to operate both my work van and my car.

When all else fails, Read the Instructions
