i can lock/unlock the car, i can start the car but the remote is not working for the option programming.

do you guys know whats wrong? is the cm6000 unit compatible to 2w9000fmr remote?

if i use the op500 device to program the unit, it will work or not?

thanks

The OP500 will work.  It's easy enought to find out, just disconnect the antenna wire from the antenna and plug it into the OP500.

There is anothe way to change /set options on the CM6x00.  If you have a Blade cartridge and the iDatalink ADS USB programming cable, try this:

Temporilary insert any Blade module into the CM6x00 blade slot and connect the ADS USB cable ( that is used to flash the iDatalink bypass modules ) into  CN6 Black RS232 port on the CM6000.  Then go to the iDatalink web site ( http://www.idatalink.com/helpdesk/ ) and click on "Flash your module".  While to primary purpose of this is to flash the blade module, after you select any blade firmware, the next screen allows you to update the Compustar CM6x00 if necessary and also set the programming options.

Soldering is fun!

When you first plug the OP500 in, does it go thru its' self diags and show "0186 Success Good"?

Next display should be 1-01 on the top line and 1 on the bottom line.   ( Menu - Option  /  Selection )  Pressing the Right Arrow should step you thru all the options and menus available for the CMxx00 connected.  On the CM6200 Ver 3.11 I have connected right now, after 2-13 it  goes to 3-01.

yeah, when i plug the op500 into the antenna cable it shows "0186 success good"  after that i can see the option 1-01 to option 2-13. after option 2-13 the display will go back to option 1-01. i dont see the option 3-01. if i try to set those 2 available option and press the W button, i keep getting a error code "Er02 fail"

do you think i need to update the firmware of the cm6000? how? i have the the ads usb cable, y cable and op500.

thanks

I doubt it's due to the firmware.  I do it the easy way mentioned above but If you don't have a Blade module....

Did you try the OP500 on another Compustar brain?  You can do it on the bench by connecting +12v to the two heavy gauge Red wires and ground to the Black wire from that same Compustar connector.  Then plug in the 4 pin antenna lead and OP500.

I have used the OP500 on both.  Have you tried running the 4 pin antenna harness directly from the CM6000 to the blue connector at the top left of the OP500?  Guess it's a bad OP500.  Have you tried programming with the standard 1 way 4 button remote?  That will do everything except the two special option groups.
