whats the FUNCTION or reason behind a second starter circuit/relay... I have installed only 3 remote starts so far and haven't NEEDED it so what it is used for? What can it be used for? Is it necessary on some models? I know vague but just trying to soak it all in.

Some Nissans have a second starter wire that is there for "fuel enrichment" - necessary for a cold engine start.

Soldering is fun!

Some Toyota's have two Starter wires at the ignition switch.  ( Camry, Avalon, Highlander, RAV4, depends on year. )

Just the way the design engineers decided to do it....

Soldering is fun!

i appreciate the knowledge guys. dont have one to do right now but i keep seeing people refer to 2nd starter.... gotta wonder why they do what they do. 2nd accesory i kinda get but starter? so its manditory if that vehicle has it, to be used. and it would generally be a necessity not lets say....another convenience function.

If you don't use the second start wire, the car will be difficult to start in cold, will start fine in the warm.......think of it as a choke.

you should always hook up second starter. on nissans it's referred to often as the "cold start wire".
