I just removed a car-pro cpx-rs1 remote start (by auto page) off of a vehicle because they lost the remotes. I am looking to install this on one of my vehicles as a cheap remote start option. However when looking to match a remote they tell me it requires a xt-21 remote, but the fcc id on the unit and the fcc id on the remotes don't match. do these two numbers need to match for them to be compatible? Just want some input before i waste my time with this unit. thanks
Nate

no they dont match. FCC depends on remote frequency used.

you need to know the model/brand of rs/alarm and a good google search will tell you what remotes to buy.
