Hi

I am installing a 5901 viper in a 2010 Ford Edge

I cant find the factory alarm /disarm wire there is no such color to match the diagram.

I have some suspects how do I check for this with my DMM

Thanks

It's the PURPLE / brown in driver's kick or at the BCM. To test if it's the right wire, put a key in the driver's door cylinder and turn it to unlock. Each time you turn the key to the unlock position the wire will show ground.

Yeah I dont see a PURPLE / brown,  I see a purple and orange will the wire sit at ground and when you unlock it it unground for a split second?

Can you use a factory key fob to lock and test rather then the door lock?

did you check to make sure the vehicle has a factory alarm? roll window down. lock door with remote or with lock switch, then shut door. wait a minute. reach in to open door from inside handle, see if alarm sounds. my info doesn't show an alarm available on the '10 Edge.
if it has an alarm, check the upper left hand connector of the SJB/ fuse box under the dash for the elusive violet/brown wire.

It's going to be way up at the top of the junction box. It's very hard to get to unless you're alittle scrawny guy but it's there. provided the vehicle actually has a factory alarm.
A DMM is a beautiful thing.
