Ok I just installed a Viper 5901 in my 1999 F150. The problem that I am having is that I am unable to get into the programing mode in the control module. I follow the instructions but I get nothing from the system. Now I don't know if it is because it doesn't sense that my key is in the ignition or what as if I trip the door trigger and it reports back to me and then put my key in the Ign. reset it nothing happens, LED still continues to blink. I have all the wires hooked up right so I am stumped. I wonder if I am just missing something. Could Someone please HELP me out, I have been trying to figure this out for two days now. Thanks to anyone that replies.

Does the LED stay on all the time whether it's locked or unlocked? If so it's in Valet Mode. I think it's function, fuction, unlock to exit valet mode through the 5901 remote.

No, It's not in valet mode, I thought some may be wrong with the connections so I only hooked up the Alarm portion to see if it would do anything but still nothing. Blinks like normal when you arm it and nothing when you disarm it. Got a Bitwriter coming so hopefully I can program it without using the Control Box. Going to triple check all the connections again when it is warmer. Hopefully I am just missing something easy.

Does it remote start? Do the door lock and unlock? Or does it do nothing al all?  Do you get any parking lights flashing??
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Ok for some odd reason now its letting me get into the programming. Didn't change anything just unplugged everything then plugged it back in. Now just have to figure out how to program this thing, Keep messing up on what I have to press and when. Thanks for all the help.
P.S. I still can't get the locks to work.

Ok I have it programmed right now. Got the remote start to activate but is not cranking. That will be easy for me to fix but the two questions I have now are:
1. Door locks are not working. Going to do some measurements on those tomorrow but on the f150 can I just hook up directly to the wires that correspond to the (- or +) that particular wire or do I need a relay?
2 Is there a reason different lights light up when I activate the remote. I.E. when I attempt to remote start the only light that lights is the ABS light and every now and then the normal lights light up that would come on when you put your key to IGN. Also when those lights light up the security light (Pats light) blink fast.
Thanks for all the help!!!!

On most fords grey / YELLOW on the ignition is harness is actually accessory and not ignition. The one I did the other day had two ignitions listed and one was grey / YELLOW, broke out the meter and tested it and it tested as Acc. The truck actually had three ACC wires and only one ignition.

Also if the truck had factory keyless they should be straight negative locks, if not you will have to use relays.
