I'm looking for some assistance on installing my alarm!

I have been doing some research over the past week using the12volt.com forum, reading the Installation Guide , reviewing my Wiring Schematic as prepared by DirectWire, Directed Electronics.

With all of the reseach that I have done , I have created a spread sheet that indicates where everything is to be hooked up. So I was hoping that somebody that has actually installed this system on my same year can give me some input on what I have put together.  Also for those that have installed this on thier 2006 F250, this year has a GEM unit and my year, 2007 doesn't, it has what is called a VSM so the wiring is a bit different as it pertains to the Dome Light.

Alarm: Viper 5901 Responder LC3 SuperCode SST 2-Way Security and Remote Start System5702V

Alarm Accessories: 520T Back up battery

Truck: 2007 F250 SD 6.0 L Diesel

Factory Alarm: NO

Keyless Entry: Yes

Progressive Locks: Yes (would like to maintain)

Dome Delay: YES

VSM: YES

GEM: NO

IF anyone would like I can email them my spread sheet where I have all of my notes and comments organized along with the information listed below.  Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I would be willing to share my spread sheet with anyone that is also looking to install this Viper unit on thier 2007 F250.

Both Bulldog and Audiovox list 2 Ignition wires and two Accessory wires.  Best to verify this with a DMM.  And yes, use a 30/40 Amp SPDT relay for ACC2.  Wire as follows:

Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12v constant fused at 20 Amps
Relay Pin 85 to Viper H2/12
Relay Pin 87a not used - insulate
Relay Pin 30 to ACC2 at F250 ignition harness

Did you verify that your truck does not have the PATS immobilizer?  ( Some do. )

If Virtual Tach does not work properly, here is Diesel Tach info from Bulldog:

On DIESEL Engines the TACH wire is a LIGHT GREEN / WHITE wire in a 5-Pin Harness held up with WHITE tape located behind the Parking Brake Release.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks for the reply, I greatly appreciate it.

What is throwing me off is that the DEI Wiring lists the following:

ACC-1 (Grey / YELLOW and RED / Black)

ACC-2 (Blue/ Lt. Green)

This would be three wires?- That's what is throwing me off.

H3/3 (+) Accessory Output

Accessory 1 -Grey / YELLOW and RED / Black wires located at Ignition Harness.
Question: Will a relay be necessary if there are two Acc. 1 wires?
H3/7 (+) Ignition 2 / Flex Relay Output
Accessory 2-dk. Blue/Lt. Green at Ignition Harness

If it is determined that ACC-1 has two wires, I will wire in a Relay as you have indicated. I will test these wire to see if there truly are two wires for ACC-1.

That's strange that Bulldog and Audivox lists 2 ignitions and Direct Wire indicates only one, I will have to look into that.

PATS- I'm not 100% Certain that my truck has a PATS- I will verify when I start the installation.  I'm prepared because I have purchased the XPRESS PKFM just in case it is needed. The wiring directions are very clear for that unit.

Was there anything else that caught your attention?   Dome Light supervision Relay wiring? Anything else?

Thanks

Also, the

If your dome light comes on either when you manually unlock or through keyless entry you won't need domelight supervision.
Also and I'm sure Kreg knows better but using a POS door trigger?
Asking questions about the number of ignition wires is moot; read my bye-line.

Some more info confirming the door lock info in my previous P.M.

2007 F250  Door Locks

Vehicles with keyless entry, the lock wire is WHITE/ red (-), in the driver kick, door harness or also

at the VSM, gray plug, pin 3. The VSM (Vehicle Security Module) is to the right of the accelerator pedal
above the transmission hump below the radio. Not accessible from radio opening.

Vehicles with keyless entry, the unlock wire is BLACK/ white (-), in the driver kick, door harness or

also at the VSM, gray plug, pin 2. The VSM (Vehicle Security Module) is to the right of the accelerator
pedal above the transmission hump below the radio. Not accessible from radio opening. Vehicles with
keyless entry the VSM shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to wake up
the system refer to Tech Doc 1094.

This might give you some pointers: Profile Kevin Pierson, look at his posts, about 3 years ago the post is started by him so it's quite easy to find, page 6 I believe, Viper 5901 R/S in an 05 F150.
There are photos galore.

Thanks for everyone's input-- The alarm is working good. However, I'm having an issue with running my battery out of juice.

When I leave the Heater or vent on after I shut off the truck the heater or vent continues to run, therefore running my battery out of juice. If I turn of the Heater or Vent before I shut down the truck there is no issue with my battery running down. I have included the wiring diagram as it is currently installed.

Also, I have tested the Wiring Harness and have determined the following: 1-Ignition wire / 3-Accessory wires / 4-(+) 12v wires

Ignition Wiring harness

RED / Black- Accessory #1 wired directly into Viper alarm with built in relay
RED / Lt. Green- Ignition
Gray / YELLOW- Accessory #3 wired into Relay
