Is this system new or has it been in for a while and no longer working? what steps are you taking?

if you're doing the remote start initialization correctly it should stay running until you lock the doors. does it do that?

So you're getting the remote start error when you attempt to activate the remote start with the car running, after you put the e-brake on? For programming, how many pulses to activate do you have it programmed to. The default is 1. If you program it to 2 or 3. the remotes are very picky how fast/slow you press the button.

Are all of the doors and hood shut when you are putting it in manual transmission mode?
