Hi all, I'm Johnny, let me start by saying this forum is awesome and has helped me understand allot of things, for the past few weeks or so I been on it every single day, I must say it's one of my favorite forums so far...
Now the problem:
I'm having issues w my new Viper VSS5000 (smartstart) remote start system I installed last week, and since I haven't been able to figure it out.
I was able to make the VSS5000 open and close doors (w/relays) successfully but alarm does not want to arm or start remotely even though the doors lock, alarm is still not armed!
Also, when the heavy gauge relay satellite (remote start relay) is connected to VSS5000 locking the doors w remote requires holding the lock button for 4-5 seconds (still not arming the alarm), if I disconnect the heavy gauge relay satellite the alarm acts fast locking the doors as it should but still not arm, so if I open any door from inside or try triggering the alarm via shock sensor, nothing happens, alarm will not be triggered.
I went over the installation guide and the full PDF guide downloaded here (Viper 560XV which is identical as far as installation and wire colors) so many times that It's actually driving me crazy.
Can someone tell me if I went wrong somewhere and burned something out or I'm missing something, could it be a setting I should look into, I tried resetting the alarm as per factory guide but no luck, all fuses are fine, ground is perfect.
Please help.
Thank you in advance

To where did you lock the doors, the dash switch?

I meant how did you physically wire the vehicle locks, also what by-pass did you use?

I hooked the lock wires on the CTM using relays, sprinters use a neg. 5 wire system and it's working fine I'm just not being able to have the alarm arm, everything works except that.
For by-pass I used a one of those universal one that was compatible with my VSS5000...
Thanks for chiming in...

What do you mean CTM. The proper place is under the driver's seat is that what you mean?
