I need help please, I m new in this site ... I m installing a prestige aps 787c and there is no wire to connect to the key sense from the switch of my focus 2006 so the alarm will activate when my car is running ... I m not installing the RS option, just the basic .... Also my ford wire diagram says I must connect all four dooor trigger to the alarm, however I see my car has a general light on the dashboar that lights up when any door is open or even the trunk, can I use this a the trigger and if so where can i locate this wire?

You don't need key sense for an alarm but you MUST connect to the ignition. That's why your alarm triggers whilst you're driving.
Do all 4 doors.
If you connect to the domelight door warnings will drive you mad because of domelight delay going to the doors is instant.
Doing this properly will save you lots of problems in the long run.
Having said that, is this a Euro Spec, UK or Spain or is this vehicle US spec?
Either check on Wikipedia or by the running lights. Amber or white?
Amber = US.
Hood release, internal = US, by moving the Ford badge on the hood and using a key, = Euro.
If it's European I can give you a short cut for the domelights.

You can connect to the domelight wire as a door trigger input.  The signal is on a BLACK/ blue (Active low) wire located at the GEM module, grey plug pin 3.  The GEM module is located above the passenger kick panel.  Connect this signal to your Brown (-) door trigger from your APS787C.

Audiovox alarms have the ability to "learn" the domelight delay of the vehicle.  This means the alarm won't false when you arm it and the dome light is on, but rather it learns the domelight delay and adds 2 seconds prior to arming.  Here is the procedure:

To learn the light delay, start with all doors closed:

(1) Use the transmitter to Lock / Unlock / Lock / Unlock / Lock / Unlock / Lock, the system.

The LED turns on solid to confirm the system entered the learn mode.

(2) Immediately open and close the door of the vehicle to initiate the dome delay.

The unit will monitor the door trigger input Positive, (Purple), and Negative, (Brown) when active.

When the dome light turns off, the unit will add 2 seconds then exit the learn mode.

(3) The LED will begin flashing the Armed indication indicating the unit has exited the learn mode and is armed.

You can't use that dashboard light, it's data triggered but apart from that I agree with Letric Guy, I didn't know the US version was the same as Europe, that's why I was asking those questions. Do the same with the rear cargo area light and use a pin switch for the hood, the factory hood switch, at least on /Euro Versions is open circuit on open.
We also add diodes (1N4004) in line on the 12v+ supply to dome and rear cargo areas, band towards the light.
That should obviate the door ajar warning.

Howie & aayukawa --

Just to clarify, the blue/black is the domelight wire (Negative trigger), not the dash indicator.   Wiring directly to this will work fine.

Trunk trigger is in the driver's kick, also BLACK/ blue (Connect Audiovox Dark Green here).

Hood pin is BLACK / YELLOW on the GEM module, blue plug, pin 21  (Connect Audiovox Grey/Black here).

Quite right, I was wrong on the hood pin, US and Europe diverged around this time on the wiring current (New) Focus is the same.
We also went straight to the BLACK / YELLOW dome light feed, at that time, 05 on we were using a combined fuse and GEM box.

Thanks everyone for the help .... I will be working on the alarm tomorrow.  @howie II, the aps 787c has two power inputs (see instructions below) I just connected one because I m not using the remote star feature (red with white trace) and I connected it to the battery wire at the ignition switch that always have voltage. Tell me if I need to connect any other wire to the ignition wire on the switch harness.

< size=2 face=Arial>< size=2 face=Arial>

Fused RED w/ WHITE TRACE WIRE: < size=2 face=Arial>< size=2 face=Arial>+ 12 volt Battery 1 Source

Locate the vehicle battery wire(s) at the ignition switch. Verification: These wires will register voltage in all

positions of the ignition switch. Connect the Red w/White wire to the vehicle's battery wire. This wire provides

power for the control circuit as well as the ignition 1 and ignition 2 relays.

Fused RED WIRE: < size=2 face=Arial>< size=2 face=Arial>+ 12 Volt Battery 2 Source

Locate the vehicle battery wire(s) at the ignition switch. Verification: These wires will register voltage in all

positions of the ignition switch. Connect the Red wire to the vehicle's battery wire. This wire provides power

for the start relay and the accessory relay.

Thanks again!!!!
