I'm going to be putting a starter in my coworkers 99 Pontiac Grand Prix. Going to go with a compustar and the blade-all bypass. The install manual for the Blade-All only shows 93-96 and 00-03 for the Grand Prix so I'm assuming its the same as the 00-03.. that sound right? It also seems like it is an immobilizer only.. or do I have to do the relay / resistor method with that car as well? The install diagram for the blade-all doesn't really show anything about the relay/resistor setup...
Thanks
Kenny

The installation for the Blade-All is showing 3 wire connections. 2 are splitting the ignition input to the immobilizer, and 1 is a data connection (at the immobilizer ring on the ignition barrel)

Ok, now I'm really confused. According to DEI wiring from readyremote.com, its saying that no bypass is needed... nor does it mention anything about having to do the resistor bypass either. Did the 99 Grand Prix's really not have Pk_ or immobilizers?!?! I could have sworn they did...

I seen that they say no bypass to. That can't be right. 97-99 are the same.

yea, I saw that, but DEI wiring shows no bypass needed, xpresskit doesn't list the Grand Prix at all for that year (usually means no bypass), and idatalink doesn't have it listed in any of the install guides... lol.
So weird.

anybody else have any input? We are getting some mixed reviews here... lol. I have a feeling that I will be ok by not getting a bypass and if the 2 wire harness is there I'll just do the relay/resistor bypass... but I'd like to make sure I don't need a bypass first... lol
