Hi,
I've searched around but haven't found anything on the topic.
I purchased a 7351v remote as according to the Viper website, it's compatible with my Viper 5701 alarm system.
However when I try and pair it, it keeps failing. I can successfully delete all remotes and re-pair my other remote (7251v) however still no luck on the 7351v.
Has anyone actually paired a 7351v to a 5701, and if so did you have to do anything different to normally pairing?
The 7351v is fully charged, and the system mode is set to "SEC"
Thanks in advance

The Viper web site says that the 7351v will work with units with a DATE CODE of 10D and up.

http://www.viper.com/ShopViperProducts/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemCode=7351V     Link to determining the date code.

Thanks for that,

My current remote is the 7251v, which according to the Viper website, is only compatible with 10D models and above as well.

So my Viper alarm is definately 10D or later.

Hello, I know you posted your question some time ago but i am interested in knowing if you got your 7351v remote to work with the 5701v alarm. I have the same issue here and i was told it supposed to work. I read somewhere else that you have to change the anttena in order for it work. Any ideas?? Anyone?? Thanks

The antenna changed to a DEI 548T LED 2Way IVU GEN2 RCVR for the 10D date code. So if you want to use the 7351LC with the 5701 you would need to replace the antenna with the GEN2 one, otherwise The 6711t Antenna for 5901 and 5902 is also supposed to work but are rare to find for cheap!

You also need to verify that 4 remotes haven't been paired to the 5701 if so you will need to delete all the remotes from memory to add new remotes.

Also the DEI 548T LED 2Way IVU GEN2 RCVR is a 4 pin antenna if you have the 6 pin antenna (with valet and led built in) you would either have to use a seperate valet and led if the main unit has seperate plugs for them. Otherwise you would need to get a Gen2 6211t.

The 6211t antenna has to have a date code of 10/D to work with the 7351 remotes the date code of the CPU dosen't matter as the antenna controls the remote and communicates to the CPU through DATA! Only the remote ID is stored in the CPU.

To the 5701 can use the 7351v remote if we upgrade the antennae to the 6211T (10D). Which this basically makes the 5701 a 5901. But I'm having the same problem as the original poster (Deepulse).
I've swapped out the antenna (not the wires because they look the same) 1) opened door turn key to on
2) Press/release then press and hold the control button
3) Alarm chirps once - blue light flashes
4) With remote in pairing mode I hit the lock button
FAILURE... remote makes a mean noise and after about three attempts the alarm itself does a quick siren and i have to start over.
I can always put the old antenna back up and the old remote works fine... wierd
please help me somebody...

If pairing fails you need to check a few things below
Things to verify,
1. green wire-H1/8 or violet-H1/6 is connected.
2. Heavy guage pink is hooked up to car ignition (Viper 5701 H3/1)
3. Delete all remotes, Then attempt pairing.
4. If installed by a dealer verify the unit is not bitwriter bit locked. (The learn routine may be locked if previously programmed using the Bitwriter®. If the siren generates one long chirp when attempting to program the unit, the learn routine is locked and must be unlocked using the Bitwriter® before proceeding.)
5. The valet/program button must continue to be held after the siren chirp and led flash.
6. Alway's enter pairing mode with the remote first then the main brain unit.
7. Verify the correct (System type) mode of the 7351 is set to match your system ie (Remote start & Security for the 5701) not (Remote start).
I have never seen any changes to the antenna wires color order in the connectors but you can just check and make sure the order hasn't changed at either end. Especially the green and blue wires as those are the send and receive wires.
