Looking for some direction please. I have a '97 Cadillac Deville that I'm trying to install a Viper 5701 remote start, and have purchased the XpressKit PLJX to get around the VATS system. I've looked at the XpressKit instructions and don't understand the diagram. I wired H3 harness for the 5701 as in the installation manual, and now am trying to figure out which wires from the PLJX I need to connect to.

This is the first time I've installed a remote start with one of these by-pass kits and I'm really struggling. Please help!

I know that you have money invested in that bypass, but I find that PLJX to be cumbersome for VATS. The VATS system can be bypassed with a relay and a resistor.
Have a look at this link.
If you really want to use a module, I would suggest the ADS-DL from Idatalink.com.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Thanks for the response and the link. It seems rather simple. What's the easiest way to measure the resistance? I have a decent digital multi-meter...

I went with the PLJX based on the info on the Directed Electronics site. After looking at the idatalink site, that appears to be an easier install.

Found a site the provides instructions to determine the resistance of the VATS key:

http://www.vatskey.com/vats/vatskeylock.htm

I'll give this a try tonight.
