i installed a couple actuators in my tailgate of my 05 Nissan titan so when i install a remote start i will have that option available of being able to remotely open it.
Now the question is i want to be only able to release to gate in park i have the Nissan repair manual and a cant seem to find or understand which wire i can use.
One more Question i would also like to install a mercury switch in the gate as well and i would like to incorporate it with the native "door open" indicator.
if anyone would have any input i would appreciate it
thanks

Diagram "A" shows the tailgate release, note only with engine/ignition on with a switch option.
To do it with the ignition off you will need a separate relay.
Set your remote aux as timed for 1 second longer than it normally takes to open. If you have an existing switch I need to know what type because diagram "A" would need to be modified, is it up/down or just up and how many wires.
Diagram"B" is the answer to your second question.
The diodes are mandatory because the mercury switch will loosen up, swivel and short (door opening).

i think i figured it out. i know which wire(102) is hot when ignition is on and in gear and off every other time
Correct me if im wrong. if i take a relay and wire terminal 87 to the hot wire(102), term. 30 and term. 86 to chassis ground and term. 87a to the actuator ground it wont work when in gear.
what do you think?

(Howie...) Did I ever post that 2k1Toaster pic?
Though from another forum, it may be apt for your overkill versus the OP's suggested wiring.
That's of course unless the OP re-fuses...

Actually I'm not even bothering and I don't think the toaster analogy will be understood.
And of course in his relay wiring scheme, where does 85 go? Oh just forget it.
Unless of course Peter you'd like to explain where he's gone wrong plus the amount of damage ($$$) he's going to do to to his BM computer.

In fact I've revised the first diagram. N.B. Both actuator wires are ground at rest, alternates go live depending on which direction, so it doesn't matter which wire is cut, just that the switch side goes to 87a and the motor side to 30. I've shown that side that goes hot, this also gives us remote control via the alarm's aux output. The original poster still hasn't given us switch details.
