having trouble getting a solid yellow light so I can activate my VSS4000 matched with a viper 5101,I get a solid green light but the yellow always flashes rapidly no matter where i have the car.

Google is our friend smart start set up -- posted image.

Obviously, try moving the car to a new location and unplug the entire ss module, replug it all, and see if that works, dash out of the way ss module out in the open away from power lines buildings etc. Once it makes connection it usually doesn't drop the connection.

Did the unit pass the initialize computer test? what were the readings listed as the response?

did not pass any initialize test.logged on to activation page with username and password and filled out all info on install device step 2,get diagnostic result failed because of yellow light not solid.

still no luck-guess i'll have to call tech support..this is a remanufactured unit.
