Hello, I am installing an autopage rs 665 on a 1999 Toyota Sienna and am not able to remote start the van. I tried to use the wire by the ignition coil (green), and the orange by the ecm under the glover box, but to no avail. It does not have an immobliizer and the key is an axxess 35 R, a blank key. Do I need to connect the keysense to the gwr? Please advise. Thanks.

What is happening when attempting to R/S(Lights Flash...ETC). Have you inserted the Key in the Ignition and attempted to R/S(always recommend disconnecting bypass when trying this method). I believe that has a Tach-less feature... Have you tried that...? ...is the Blank Key programmed?

I press the * button and nada. No parking lights. The key has no chip in it. I also put the key in the ignition, and no luck.

First yes to the key sense.
Connect both reds at H1 also the red system power.
Test the R/S outputs.
Try a hot wire to see if the vehicle starts. This will confirm or other wise if you need a by-pass.
Loop power to ignition 1, then flash to starter wire.

Have you done the tach learn procedure... If it is doing NOTHING... And Power is Present... Might have to Initiate the R/S...
Enter Start Feature ‘D’ Programming Mode:
1. Turn the Ignition ‘switch ‘ON/OFF’ 3 TIMES and stay in OFF position.
2. Push the Valet switch 9 times (holding in on the 9th push) until four
chirps with a long chirp is heard then release the valet switch. You are
now in the Start feature ‘D’ programming mode.
Select “Checking Type”:
3. Press and release the transmitter + button once to set the
“Tachometer Checking Type”. [1] LED flash, [1] Siren chirp to confirm
24
this setting.
4. Once you complete step 3, you can program “RPM Learning Mode” as
follows:
RPM LEARNING:
While the system is in Start Feature “D” programming mode,
1. Press and release the transmitter button once, [1] LED flash, [1]
siren chirp indicating you are in features “RPM Learning mode”.
2. Start the vehicle with the key. (While the engine is running, the parking
& LED will flash, If not, please check tachometer WHITE/ Red wire
connection.
3. Press and hold the valet switch for 2 seconds until a long chirp and the
LED light is constant for two seconds. The RPM signal is learned.
4. Once you complete step 3, you can adjust and test “Check Level” as

PROGRAMMING:
Note: This system can keep up to 4 remote transmitters in its memory. If
more than 4 transmitters programmed, the system will keep only the last
4 transmitters.
PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER
Enter:
1. Turn the Ignition switch ‘OFF/ON’ 3 TIMES and staying in the ‘ON’
position.
19
2. Within 15 seconds, push the Valet switch 2 times. (Holding down on
the 2nd push) until you hear a long chirp. The transmitter is ready to
program.
Program:
1. Press the button on the transmitter until the siren responds with a
confirming chirp, the first transmitter is now programmed.
2. Press the button on the second transmitter until the siren responds
with a confirming chirp, the second transmitter is now programmed.
3. Apply the same procedure to program 3rd and 4th.
Exit: Turn Ignition to ‘OFF’ position, or leave it for 15 seconds. A 3 long
chirps & 3 parking light flashes will confirm exit.

Ok I checked the outputs from the r/s, and they measured around 12 volts. The RED / white tach measured AC current 2-4 volts. I connected the blue/black (GWR) to the sienna blue/black keysense, which was in a 2 wire plug at the end of the ignition barrel. The ignition harness plugs back there as well. Could the r/s be defective?
