Leave the key in the ignition (off).
If it then succeeds in starting your by-pass either isn't working or incorrectly programmed or needs a flash upgrade.

Still no start with key in the ignition in the off pos.

I've made the following connections and verified

Acc

IGN1

Bat1

Bat2

start

data connection between ss9600 and flcan

OBD connection to flcan

ign+ to flcan

Lock and unlock work fine so I know the data connection works

How do you have the tachometer setting programmed? Default is for tachometer sensing, and the unit won't work until you do something with those settings.
Three choices (this applies to any installation, not just your Cadillac):
1: Connect GREEN/ orange tachometer wire to appropriate wire in car, and go through the "tach learning" routine in the installation manual.
2: Program for "DBI Tach" if the FLCAN guide shows that the unit supplies tach through the data-to-data cable (orange dotted lines)
3: Program for voltage sensing, change the "voltage level" to the non-default setting too. If your car doesn't have a traditional positive-trigger starter wire, also change the Crank Averaging setting to "pre-set time."
If you don't do one of those three things, the parking lights will just flash seven times when you try to activate the remote starter.

hey guys thanks for helping a newbe. that did the trick.

Any idea what the color code is for the defrost wire on a 2005 cadillac srx? I checked other forums and could not locate a schematic.

Between rear seat, right hand side and door is the rear loom under carpet edge.
White wire, pulsed (momentary) ground with engine running will trigger it. TEST FIRST and VERIFY.

sorry i should have been more clear. The SRX has dual climate control that resets everytime you start. I've started to probe the wires behind the climate control and can so far only turn the fan on high with a ground. I would like to be able to have the fan on high and the front defrost on.

thanks again!
