Installing a Viper 5704 on a 2001 F150 and I can't get the Flcan module to program and I can't get the control to work to get the system to change from manual to automatic. Anybody have any ideas.

Probably dumb questions, but I don't want to assume things or overlook anything.

Is the FLCAN flashed with the FLC-AL(TB)-FM2 firmware?  There are many different firmwares available for the FLCAN but only FM2 is correct

for your truck.

Did you set the FLCAN Installation Mode to Data ( 1 LED flash ) and lock it in prior to vehicle programming?  Guessing that you are going D2D and

using the supplied D2D harness to connect to the 5704.  There are only three connections that must be made ( soldered ) to the truck from the
FLCAN.  The instructions are pretty good and the wire listing very accurate.

The 2001 F150 is PATS1 and should only need one key to program so you should get the Green LED at step 3.

As for the Viper 5704 programming, do a search on that very topic.  It has been discussed many times in the past.  There are some important

Viper connections that must be made and working properly prior to entering into programming mode and it takes some time, trail and error,
and effort to get the hang of it.  Keep trying...

Soldering is fun!

Thanks for responding. I got it all working Sunday evening but I do have one question. Does the WHITE/ pink heavy gauge wire power the climate control. My heater control and fan doesn't work with the remote start. It starts working when I put the key in.

Bulldog Security shows two ACC for that truck.  ACC 1 Gray / YELLOW (+), and ACC 2 BLACK/ Light Green (+).  Test WIth DMM

http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

Pink/White is defaulted as Ignition 2 from the factory and needs to be changed to ACC 2, in Menu 3, Item 8, Option 2.

When all else fails, Read the Instructions

The pink/white is not hooked up so that would probably explain the heater not working. I will hook it up this weekend. This is my first alarm and remote start install but everything works except the heater control

Thanks a ton kreg357. The wiring diagram you sent me worked perfectly. Everything works as it should now. I would have never known to change the setting from ignition to accessory. This website ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
