pulse timer

I was wondering if anyone has built their own pulse timer? I'm trying to create a timer so the driver door looks like it is opened and the radio turns off after the remote start shuts off on the new Fords. The timer needs to engage a couple seconds after receiving a input and create a output for a couple seconds (long enough to show the door is open). I planned on doing this by triggering the timer with the (-) FAA (factory Alarm Arm) output on the remote start and triggering a relay to trigger the open door circuit. I would eliminate the timer but FAA output and (-)lock output timing triggers at the same time. I know I can buy a timer but I'd like the knowledge and gratification of building my own timer. I'm doing this to turn the radio off after the disarming the factory alarm. Any ideas or comments would be awesome.I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage

Look at Velleman kits trouble was back in the day they were about £1 ($1.50) less than the 528t so it wasn't worth while building them.

It is already designed and packaged but you do get to put it together and solder the components. The Database sheet also gives the name, number, and values of the components used...Soldering is fun!

Actually, the Mk111 was the one I used to build, remove the left hand (looking down) pot and it became an on rather than on off.
