Sounds like maybe you missed an ing or acc wire did you power everything up ? Maybe a fuse blew that powers a circuit ? Does it do it with the key ?
Ignition     -BROWN / pink
Second Ignition-      pink/black (3rd acc)
Accessory     - gray / YELLOW
Second Accessory     - BLACK/ green
I can see the abs light coming on but maybe the oil light is a fluke ?

Yes it does do it with the key.   but, 3 hours later, shouldn't this be instant?

If it does it using just the key I would check all the wiring where you were working. Maybe you knocked a connector loose or sliced through a wire and It took time to come apart. If all else fails remove the system from the equation and start from there.
It could have nothing to do with what you did. The car is 17 years old.

Off the top of my head I can't remember. so I would grab a multimeter and test. As its written above the
BROWN / pink should be ingition which would remain live during cranking.
Pink/black, gray / YELLOW and BLACK/ green are acc and will drop out during crank
Again use a multimeter and test before connecting (which you should have already done during the install)
