I am ordering the avital 5303 . First time installing an alarm system/remote unlock/ remote start. Still don't understand everything. I don't need a bandpass imbolizer. I pulled my vechile wiring diagram up. Kinda confused on relays. If my car don't have power locks and I have to lock my door with the key. Will the remote unlock feature work

If you don't have them, here are some additional sources for vehicle wiring:
Here is a link to Bulldog Security : http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp
Here is a link to Ready Remote : http://www.readyremote.com/main.asp
Here is a link to AudioVox : http://techservices.audiovox.com/AccessRequest.aspx    Sign-up & info is free.
Download the info from these sources and compare them. There will be some differences.   Make up a
cheat sheet and use that as a guide when you open up your car and start locating and verifying the actual
wires. There should be a 5303 Install Guide in the Downloads section.   While it doesn't go into detail,
it will provide most of the info you need. Make up a wire connections sheet and post it for review and
comments from the Forums members. There is a Sticky for this at the top of this area.
Power door locks : When you insert the key in the drivers door and turn it to the lock position, does it
cause all the door to lock or just the drivers door?    If it locks all the doors, does turning the key to the
unlock position unlock all the doors?
Soldering is fun!

It's been a while since I've done a forenza but heres what I do remember. On some of them there was no drivers door actuator. The doors were controlled by the drivers door. So if you added an actuator to the drivers door it would control all the doors . The ingition harness was easy to get to. The door trigger is under the drivers sill plate. You can get the parking lights in the column harness or switch.
If you end up needing more I can go pull my notes on the car.
Take your time and test every wire using a volt meter

Chev104275 can give you all the gory details but I'm guessing you have the Forenza Base model.
You should be able to get the 5303 to control the door locks if you add an actuator solenoid to the
driver's door lock. You will need a lock solenoid kit ( $5 ) and two 30/40 Amp relays ( $8 ) to control it.

I'm guessing you don't have an interior door lock swich on the door correct ? You need to use the key in the door to operate the locks ? If this is the case you will need to add an actuator on the drivers door. The locks not functioning is an issue with the car that would have to be addressed for the locks to function with the 5303.

Could be wiring , could be the contacts inside the drivers door key switch, would need to get onto it to diagnose it
