Well I want to try to install my first electric start. I have a python 414. I ordered a transponder bypass. I will be a tempting to install this in to a 2005 ford 500. This will be my first install any help on terminology would be awsome. Do I also have all the parts I need. I'm sure I will have other questions. I'll post as they come up. Thanks in advanced for all the help.

I forgot the model number for transponder bypass that I bought. It's a express kit pkfm. The description said it should work with my car.

While I'm not a big fan of the PKFM ( had issues when it was XK04 ), it should work OK.  It should come flashed with the

PKFORD firmware.  You will need two working, non-clone, ignition keys to program the bypass module.  Here are the
transponder wire colors as listed by iDatalink :

Five Hundred  05-07   TX   Pin 3 WHITE/ Light Green           RX   Pin 4 Gray/Orange

The car is fairly basic with no big surprises for your remote start with keyless entry install.  Be aware that the Factory

hood pin ( if installed ) is the N.C. type and if you use it as the 414's hood pin input, you will need to change Menu 1,
Item 9 to Option 2.  If there is no Factory hood pin, use the one supplied in the 414 kit ( with no programming changes ).

Your next step should be to download all the wiring guide info from several sources and make up a wire chart.  Here

are some more wire guide sources :

Here is a link to Bulldog Security :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

Here is a link to Ready Remote :  http://www.readyremote.com/main.asp
Here is a link to AudioVox :  http://techservices.audiovox.com/AccessRequest.aspx    Sign-up & info is free.

If you post your wire connection chart ( Python 414 to vehicle ), forum members can review it and make suggestions and

or corrections before you start the install.

Last but not least, use a Digital Multi Meter to test the vehicles wires.  And every connection should be soldered for best

reliability.

Soldering is fun!

I worked on my wire connection chart and i will post it after this reply. Its the first one i have ever done so might be completely wrong. sorry if it is. There was some stuff i wasn't sure about. I left question marks in those spots. Some help with that would be great. on the instructions there was Auxiliary/shutdown harness, not sure what this is for. also how hard would it be to get the heated seats and rear defrosted to come on when i start the car.
Thanks again for all the help.

I see that the rear defogger output is good for 200 ma. I would think that the rear defogger draw more then that. Should install a relay for that. Also can I put the heated seats on that relay. If anyone has wired the heated seats to work with the electric start I wondering how and what wires.
Thanks again

Here is the link to the PKFM w/PKFORD firmware install guide:

  http://www.xpresskit.com/DocumentDownload.aspx?documentid=6492&productid=202&firmwareid=212

If you decide to go with the D2D connection mode, there will be only 3 wires to connect to the car.

PKFM        Ford 500 Transponder connector
Pin 2:  Green: TX Output   Pin 3 WHITE/ Light Green
Pin 7: Pink: RX Output    Pin 4 Gray/Orange
Pin 8: Orange: (+) Ignition Input   Pin 1 Ignition
