330.3x false trunk alarms

Three times now received false alarms (trunk)on my 330.3x.
The tail gait has a magnetic switch instead of a pin switch wired into the main connector. the system was working perfect for a year now. Any ideas on what could be going on?

It was not a Week, it was less than a day between your 2 posts.
The tolerance of most magnetic switches are very narrow. Have you checked to see if one of the components have moved? What are the chances that water may have penetrated the switch housing?

In deed, a week is 7 days. Glad that's settled.
1) Neither component has moved. (Black RTV in place of two sided sticky tape so very firmly mounted and sealed)
2) Yes water could have entered the mag switch casing but no resistance is seen on Fluke DVM with gate closed. .03ohms to ground when opened.
3) About 11.8 VDC seen on the blue wire at main connector when closed
It hasn't given off a false alarm for about a week now. nuk nuk nuk

When have the false alarms occurred? Has the weather been unusually cold during any of the false alarms?
Once it falses when you rearm the alarm does the trunk zone reset or does it stay tripped for an extended period of time?

Yes that's exactly what the system did. How did you know? System stayed tripped for an extended period. OAT was warm and the all at once a front moved through dropping the temperature significantly with tons of rain. The false warning reported on the remote key well into the next day and then went off two more times the next night. It hasn't done it again since then. What gives?

If water would have penetrated the housing, it will take a day or two for it to evaporate. If it had rained the previously, that could be something to think about.

It could be many things depending on the magnetics and switch details (reed switch or Hall etc).
- condensation (across terminals or internals)
- interference/noise (GSM, transmitted, vehicle switching, battery fluctuations (aging battery?))
- magnetic variation (temperature etc) especially if borderline proximity.

The cold causes metal to move - it is very possible that when it got cold quickly the magnets were pulled just far enough that they tripped. Also, you mentions rain, it is possible condensation got inside the switch.
