I just installed my Viper 4105v in my 2006 Subaru Impreza. Lock and unlock work good with light blinks. Horn does not (disabled in menu maybe? Manual says disabled by default but not sure if same function). However that's not my big issue. Which is I press the remote start button and I get nothing, no led blinks, no clicking, nothing. I double checked all my wires. Tach wire has not been wired yet, nor the neutral safety or hoodpin switches. Could those be the cause? Or do I have a bigger problem?

Assuming an automatic transmission, the Viper Neutral Safety wire should be connected to Chassis Ground.

The Hood Pin should be connected to the kit supplied hood pin switch that you install in the engine compartment.

For right now, during testing, make sure this wire does not see chassis ground.  Insulate it.

Running in Tach Mode is the best bet for reliable engine starting in all temperatures.  It is easy enough to connect it

to the coil pack wire shown in the Pictorial.  For testing, you can run in Virtual Tach Mode.

Have you made any changes to the Vipers default factory program settings?

Have you tried running the Viper Shutdown Diagnostics?

I have a manual (I plan on making a proper safety switch once I get the car remote starting) and I just tried grounding the neutral wire and still nothing.
Tach is in Virtual Mode.
No changes to system and I'll try diagnostics tomorrow, but from what I read I can only use this if it tries to start and fails.
Is my system in some kind of mode which it won't even try to start?

Some Imprezas have a neutral safety wire to the engine management. Connect the BLACK/ white at H2 to that wire and leave the Viper in auto setting.

Did you program it as an auto before trying your tests? Did you hear 7 clicks when it failed?

GREEN/ black wire.
Have you done the clutch by-pass?

This Viper model is auto only, (it does not have a programmable setting for this). Clutch bypass is done, car starts with key without clutch in.
I hear no clicks! It doesn't even try!

Are all your 12V+ heavy duty Red primary with fuses connected?

I'll have to tear apart the electrical tape around those connections and check them when I get home from work today.

Hate to rain on the parade but...  If this is a R/S system designed for Automatic Transmissions only you shouldn't be installing it in this car.  viper remote start, no sign of starting -- posted image.

A "clutch bypass" alone is not the way to go here, it is creating an unsafe condition.

A knowledgeable professional ( like Howie II ) could install it using the vehicles ECM Neutral Safety signal and a proper R/S controlled clutch bypass.

Anything less is asking for trouble.
