I'm installing a Hornet 700T alarm upgrade in my Golf and having difficulty finding the lock and unlock wire to arm and disarm the 700T unit.  does anyone know which 2 wires these would be on the factory alarm and their location also?  thanks

You can access them at the comfort module on the driver side.

Can I just tap these wires to the Hornet 700T module's arm and disarm wires or do I need a relay or something?  I thought I tried that yesterday but the module never armed....  I'm sure all the other wires are connected fine.

Thanks again for your help Jeff its very well appreciated..

I now have a serious problem with my alarm... after taping the 700T arm and disarm wires to the factory alarm lock and unlock wires... My factory alarm now doesn't lock my driver door.  It arms the factory alarm (not the 700T, I unplug it to see if it was causing the problem) and locks the passenger door but not the driver door.  I have to press on the pin or insert the key and lock it manualy...  What could be the problem now before I bring it to the dealer where its going to cost me a shoot load of money to fix this... :( :(

Oh the lock/unlock switch on the door still works though, its only when I arm the factory alarm with my remote that it doesn't lock my driver door.

Thanks

Does the switch still work from the driver door to lock/unlock the driver side lock ? The 700T, does it have alternating polarity door lock wires ? Make sure that it was sending a ( - ) pulse not a ( + ) or you may have fried the driver side door lock motor. Check these out first and post your results.

Also, when you refer to the Hornet's arm and disarm wire, do you mean the lock and unlock wires ?

the switch still works on the driver door to unlock all the door and passenger door.  The driver door trigger is sending a (-) polarity and works fine and is pluged in to the 700T's (-) input trigger.

the Arm and disarm wires I'm refering to, are the arm input (+) or (-)  and disarm input (+) or (-) to activate the hornet or disactivate the hornet.  here is the description from the installation manual for the Hornet 700T for these 2 wires.

H2/2 green, arm input: connect this wire to a wire that changes state when the doors are locked using the factory keyless entry transmiter.  This wire can accept a + or - input.  The power door lock motor wires are ideal.

H2/4 blue disarm input: connect this wire to a wire that changes state when the doors are unlocked using the factory keyless entry transmiter...

installation manual can be found here...

I have a feeling like my driver door lock motor is fried for certain operations.  but the switch still works.

Thanks Jeff.
