Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me. I recently had a smart start system installed in my wifes 2012 Acura RDX. The installed made it so if she hit lock 3x it would remote start. (xpress kit/dball2 I believe) The smart start system never worked correctly. It was very hit or miss. Sometimes it would work and then one minute later it wouldn't. So I removed it and got a refund from viper for the service fee. I removed the brain that was in it, which was a DEI brain with no transmitter. I installed the Viper single button 4115v directly in its place and added the antenna. The car now remote starts by pressing the single button 3x. The problem is the range isn't that great and the whole point was so my wife could start the car when she gets off late at work from her building. My question is if I upgrade (again) to say a Viper 4806v (1 mile range) Will the Xpress/Dball2 need to be reprogrammed? The way it is now I have to press the single button 3x to start the car. (On the viper 4115v) If I get her the 4806v which has the remote start button by itself will she have to press it 3x to get the car to remote start? Or will she just need to press it once? Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Press it just once and probably better range.
