i have an 84 dodge van with a 318 v8, i currently have a standard car alarm on it, but after further "upgrades" to the car i wanted to upgrade the alarm to a model that has a 2-way lcd remote and a remote start opt. since they are desighned for use on fuel injected engins, (basicly turn it on and start it) the start function will not work on my carbed engine (since you have to pump the gas once to engadege the choke in order or it to start). My idea was to add somthing like a trunk popper on the engine and attatch the pull cable to the carb with only enough pull to just barly engage the choke, then hook it to the start wire off the remoter start module, so when it begins to crank the engine it will engage the choke alowing the engine to star. Will this work? Will the heat of the engine be to much for the popper? i am good with wiring and with fabrication, any other ideas out there to make this work

thanks

Yea, I've read some posts where the suggestion was to add the trunk pop solenoid to the gas pedal in order to pull the pedal once or twice first, and then remote start it. Very slick :-)
