No Start, 1996 Chevrolet S-10

Does the truck crank? Or does the truck crank and not start? Is there a security light in the dash that turns on or flashes? What wires did you tie into for the brake booster for power/ground? If the truck is a manual transmission, did you by any chance knock the pin switch on the cluth loose ( if you did this then the truck doesn't think that you are pushing on the clutch to start it)?Certified Security Specialist

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

The truck does not crank. The security light on the dash was removed because one of the wires pulled out of it   when I pulled off the dash panel. I was thinking it might be ok to do without this light, I hope so. The brake booster is actuated by a vacuum hose to it off the intake manifold. It does have a small plastic piece that goes between the brake petal arm and the brake petal arm clip. It's an automatic transmission. Thanks. Mike

Try pulling the main power fuse for the aftermarket alarm and see if it will start. Also check and make sure that the connections for the starter kill didn't come undone.Certified Security Specialist

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

I unplugged two fuses near the alarm but it did not start up. I don't find any other ways to salve this. ThanksMike

1. You will need to find the over ride switch as a starter. 2. The fact that the vehicle does not start even with the fuses removed, indicates you have a N.O relay starter inhibit circuit. If you locate the alarm CPU, it wont matter if you unplug it. It will not start, as it requires the alarm to send a ground to close the contacts. 3. Worst case, you pull the whole unit out and rewire the ignition with new wires, to enable you to start the vehicle. 4. Some alarms, for what ever reason require that the LED is active, to function properly. Try to repair the broken leads and try again. 5. After you re-install both fuses for the alarm, remove the negative battery terminal of vehicle. Wait one minute (60 seconds) to allow the alarm to drain. Attatch the battery terminal back on and listen for any clicks from the alarm unit. Try to start the vehicle again. 6. Check the basics, is the battery even above 12.8 volts? try finding your starter wire, should be yellow but watch out your air bag wire is also yellow but should have a tag on it somewhere indicating it is for the SIRS system. Should be able to put a jumper in the yellow wire after removing the relay or just put one of the two yellow ends on the unused relay post(if you haven't powered the alarm yet). You could check to see if it starts with the key in the on position and jumping across the starter
