I have a transponder box for the ford pats key, the one where you have to put a key to the car in it and put the ring around the ignition. My question is, the ring got broken off when i removed it out of my last car, would this unit still work? for example if i wrapped a piece of wire around the igniion and connected it to the leads from where the ring was, would that still work? my other option is i have a DEI 555C i was going to use if the first one wouldn't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

I'm pretty sure that the unit will not work since you broke the continuity of the ring, try to put the wire back together on the ring dont add wire to it, since they come with just enough to send the right signal.

Thanks for all the help on my post about the pats interface, but i have one more question, when i had my lx mustang it had a single coil, now that i have the gt, it has 8 coils. My question is, where should i tap into for the tach on a remote starter?

Thanks,

James
