Hi everyone. I'm installing a Prestige APS996a alarm into my '02 Avalanche, and had a couple of questions. Along with the interior lights and puddle lamps on the outside coming on unlock, I would also like the daytime running lights and reverse lights to come on too. (Never can have too much light at night to see what your about to step in). I was wondering if anybody knew where the easiest location to tie into these wires would be, what color the wires are, and to turn them on, if I would need a +12 volt current, or a ground. Thanks for your help in advance!

If you hook up the parklights as normal then the daytime running lights should come on as well. As for the back up lights you would have to tap into the back up light wire i dont have that wire color here but i do have the rest for you

The LR door trigger is lt. blue/black and the RR is lt. GREEN/ black, they are in a harness in front of the fuse box leading to the BCM rear plug. Use all four wires and diode isolate each.

*2 - The BCM (Body Control Module) is under the driver side dash.

*3 -  At the BCM in the purple plug, look at row B, cavity two and three should be open with not wires in then. If you make connectors for these pins you can connect them as a( TYPE B ) door locking system.

Thanks! Alarm and remote start are in and working great... still need to hook up the illuminated entry. Probably next weekend. One more question though- on these trucks there is a 30 delayed lighting after you leave the vehicle. When the courtesy lights go off, the alarm gives off a warning chirp. Anybody have any thoughts on how to get the alarm to stop doing this (while still leaving the delayed lighting on)?

Well you have to tap into the domelight super vison wire, see his table above, below in the notes

Quote: *1 - The driver door trigger is gray/black at the driver door module in the door. The RF door trigger is BLACK/ white at the passenger door module in the door. The LR door trigger is lt. blue/black and the RR is lt. GREEN/ black, they are in a harness in front of the fuse box leading to the BCM rear plug. Use all four wires and diode isolate each.

When you connect your domelight supervision output wire from the alarm to the wires above it will keep the domelight and entry lights on for 30 seconds.

Did you hook up your door triggers to the delayed lighting wires? If so it may do that..I think you can tap right into the wire comming from the door switches themselves, you will have to do the driver and pass. seperate and diode isolate each. I had to do this on an eclipse.
