I installed a Valet 554R in a 2003 Silverado and everything went fine except for 1 minor problem.  The "full security trigger" icon is always on, on the 2-way display.  I used a GMDL-BP module for the bypass and door locks.  This problem is not a big deal because I didn't install the siren (don't want the noise) but the weird thing is the only security type wires I hooked up where the door triggers (went to the GMDL-BP) and I also hooked up the lights flashing output up to the white wire behind the lights switch in the vehicle so I can see when it is running.  Other than that I didn't hook up the shock sensor, dome light supervision or anything else that could cause a trigger.  Also, the security light in the factory system never comes on so I don't think it is a problem with the GMDL-BP.  Is there anything that could cause a "full security trigger" if I don't hook it up on the 554R??

Thanks

possibly NOT having the shock sensor plugged in..or else the wrong door trigger..disconnect your door trigger and see what happens

I will try hooking up the shock sensor.  I hope that is it.  In the manual you have to open a door, turn the key on and push the valet button to enter programming mode and that works so I assumed the door trigger was working but will try that too because the info. for the GMDL-BP doesn't say if the door lock trigger output is positive pulse or negative so I just hooked it up to the alarm.  Guess I will have to verify that with a volt meter to make sure.

Thanks

did you hook it up to the door LOCK wire or the door pin wire??  if i remember correctly the door pin is inside the drivers door at the module...so if you didnt go inside the door i suspect you've hooked it up wrong...disconnect this wire and see if you lose the alarm icon on the remote

I didn't hook up a wire to the vehicle.  The GMDL-BP reads for a door lock trigger from the databus and then sends an output to the alarm.  I hooked up a wire between the GMDL-BP and the alarm.   I will however try unplugging this wire and see what happens.

thats a lock signal not a door pin trigger signal...i'm sure if you disconnect this wire things will be ok...if you want to trigger the unit when the door opens you have to go right to the door pin circuit itself

I don't think so.  The lock signals are blue and green and they work.  I have the Pink/White hooked up to the door trigger input on the alarm.  What could the Pink/White wire be used for if not for door lock triggers???  It sounds like that is what it's for but like I said before it doesn't state if it is neg. or pos. trigger output.

Here are the GMDL-BP instructions.....

RED (+) (+) 12 VOLTS CONSTANT

ORANGE HORN INPUT TRUNK INPUT TYPE 1 & 4, FOR TYPE 2 & 3

BLUE (-) UNLOCK INPUT

VIOLET DATA OUTPUT CONNECT TO VIOLET DATA WIRE OF ODBII (PIN#2)

BLACK (-) (-) CHASSIS GROUND

PINK DOME LIGHT INPUT FROM VEHICLE

BROWN (-) (-) NEGATIVE GROUND OUTPUT WHEN RUNNING (REMOTE START INSTALLATIONS ONLY)

PINK/WHITE DOOR TRIGGER OUTPUT

GREEN (-) LOCK INPUT

VIOLET/WHITE NOT USED

doorpin signal is the gray/black wire at the courtesy light under the dash...did you hook the violet positive doorpin trigger wire on the 554 to this?

maybe youre getting a wierd reading from the module...the pink/white is probably just a delayed out because of the theatre lighting in the truck...what happened when you disconnected this wire?

No, I didn't hook the positive doorpin trigger of the 554 to the gray/black wire.  I don't have the gray/black hooked to anything.   Should that be hooked up instead of the one coming from the GMDL-BP??  I won't be able to unhook this untill tonight but will get back with results later on.
