I'm installing a RS 3.5x in my friends 04 Camry.  The camry has factory keyless entry.   I know that I'm going to need a 555u or something similiar to send the key signal to the transponder.  Is there anything I need to look out for?  Any surprises?  Is the 555u ok to use?  Also, can anyone give me tips on installing this in his car.  Thanks in advance

you have a choice of 555f to use w/o givin up a key, but 555u is the easiest way to go.
unlock require double pulse, its progressive unlocking.
heres the info for 5wire trunk popper if you have one

555F won't work. The transponder key in the 04's is different than the 03's and earlier. Use a 555u, the 555F or 555X won't work. In case you didn't know, only the 6 cylinders have the transponder key.

So the 4 cylinder doesn't need a 555u?

Also, which wire from the rs 3.5x do I use to trigger the key sense wire?  The blue status output wire from the rs3.5x is part of a ribbon.  Or do I use the blue wire from the shock sensor to trigger the keysense wire?

There is a 4 pin, 6 inch long harness that plugs into the HCRS (relay pack). Connect the blue wire from that to the keysense wire to disarm the factory alarm.
The blue wire from the shock sensor won't work.
From 1998 to 2003, only the 6 cylinder Camry has had a transponder in the key. I'm not sure if it has changed for 2004. I do know the key design has changed. I only recall one 04 Camry so far in my shop, and it had a chip.
