I just bought the Clifford Matrix RS 3.5 to install in my 87 300E. Has anyone installed an alarm in an 86-89 300E Benz? I am definitely a Newbie to alarm installation, so I need some help. I have located most wires but have no Idea how to hook up this 451m relay that came with it and there is nothing in manual about it. There is a 3 prong plug with GREEN/ RED / blue to plug into alarm. And there's a purp/bk and a purp that splice together and into a fuse. A GREEN/ bk, wht/bk, BROWN / bk, and a blue/bk. And the manual says use type-e config for 85 and newer mercedes  and to modify door lock harness (H2) , but there is no info in manual about it.

Also, on the relay satelite there is a 4 prong connector next to the ribbon cable that has no instruction about it. It says, Blue(-)status output, orange(-)200ma 2nd acc output,purp - 200ma starter out, pink - 200ma 3rd ignition out.

And the H1/3 WHITE/ Blue remote start - activation input, what do I do with this?

And they gave me a Clifford single  zone prox sensor with a bk rd and orange wire. Do I hook the orange wire to H1/6 multiplex input, zone 4? Or what?

boom, boom, boom boom....

Is there someone who can check the matrix 3.5 manual online and help me out?

Any idea what the H1/3 remote start (-) activation input is for?(page18)

And what about the H3/5 Bk/Wt neutral safety switch input. Any idea where this wire hooks into my car? (page 26)

I have located most wires but have no Idea how to hook up this 451m relay that came with it and there is nothing in manual about it. There is a 3 prong plug with GREEN/ RED / blue to plug into matrix 3.5 alarm. I have looked at vac lock relay wiring diagram but it doesn't help because I have the 451M relay pack that is pre-wired and not the reg relays.

Thanks again

h1/3 WHITE/ blue - nothing, leave it out.
h3/5 blk/white- ground it, assuming its auto tranny.
maybe david will help you w/ the 451m, cause i dont use these part, i use the regular bosch types which require 2 relay setup or lock and unlock.

The back of the 451M relay says: 3pin plug- green (-) lock input, red (+)pos input for coils, blue (-) unlock input. I know where this plug goes.

The 5 wire harness is labeled:

purp/bk lock/unlock normally open #87

grn/bk   lock output#30

wht/bk   lock normally closed #87a

blue/bk  unlock output #30

BROWN / bk unlock normally closed #87a

Here is what someone else told me but don't understand what to do with the last 4 parts. Mine has a purp/bk wire that splices together with the purp wire, then connects to inline fuse. :

GREEN/ black and BROWN / black are tied together(lock relay 30, unlock relay 87a)

WHITE/ black goes to the switch side(lock relay 87a)

blue/black goes to the motor side(unlock relay 30)

purple goes to 12v(unlock relay 87)

PURPLE / black goes to ground(lock relay 87)

ground to 86

12v to 85

boom, boom, boom boom....

PURPLE / blk-ground
GREEN/ blk-tie w/ brwn/blk
WHITE/ blk-driver's drlock wire(meaning cut the wire)
blue/blk-vacuum side wire
BROWN / blk-tie w/ GREEN/ blk
if youre to take a bit of time to study the relay diagram on this site, it shows that the vacuum is active w/ two diff output polarity(+ and -) to create lock and unlock.

Tran - So the purp/black goes to ground? Why does it have a fuse? And where does the relay get 12v from because I thought that the purp/bk was for 12v?

i think because the red wire(3wires harness) is 12volt (+) already, the only thing thats left is ground and ground is missing from the whole diagram. thats PURPLE / blk #87.
to test it, dont plug the 451m to the vacuum yet. w/ a dmm, test the wire that goes to the side of the vacuum wire to see if youre gettin both neg and pos. if youre, then youre set to go.

Why do you think the PURPLE / bk has an inline fuse?
