I am trying to find out if it is possible to wire a remote start system to an Alpine SEC-100s Alarm system in a way so that it will only use the alpine remote. I would like not to have to carry two remote controls around with me everywhere. Best buy says that it is possible but for insurance purposes they cannot do it so i am on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the vehicle has power door locks which are controlled by the Alpine remote, you can use the Alpine remote to trigger a remote starter.  DesignTech has a model specifically designed for this purpose, and I am sure other manufacturers offer the same functionality.  On the DesignTech unit for example, the remote starter is triggered by sending two lock (or unlock) signals within 3 seconds.  It seems like a lot of the people who post here regularly don't like the DesignTech units, but I've had good results with them.
