Earlier I was taking my alarm off of my 2001 Honda Accord EX so I can re-do it. As I was pulling wires from one spot to another some sparks flew, and under my hood I blew a 50a fused. It was labeled, "Main Fuse." I went to pep boys, and bought another one. Now I've put it in..nothing is working, and the car won't start. The clock inside the car doesn't work....the light that flashes behind the radio when the faceplate is removed doesn't work. The battery has 11 volts on it..but when I try to crank it..it drops down to like 9 or 10..then it jumps back up. When I tried to jump it..it went from 13 down to 11. It is almost like the ignition wires are not getting 12volts..but i tested them and they are. Anyone know of any remedies for this?

Wow. Does the radio or ac come on with the key? Also pull all the main box fuses from the fuse box under the hood and check them for continuity with your meter.

Neither the A/C or radio comes on...I will go try to pull all the main fuses. There is a fuse marked "battery" under the hood I don't think it would be that one. It is a 100amp fuse. The sparks weren't even that big. I was surprised it blew the 50Amp fuse. I really hope it is not the bcm.

yo Teamrf, figures :), anyway here is what your problem probably is, you have blown more than one fuse, if the 50 amp failed then some of the 20 and 30amp have also, go through your whole fuse box and make sure that all your fuses are in tact.  If you need help give me a ring, I am off Thursday.

I have seen the 100 amp fuse blow in hondas under the same situations. Pull it and check. Most people can't see the blows in these types of fuses and is just easier to run continuity.

if you disconected your alram to re-do it did you check to see if you had a starter kill installed? could be as simple as hooking ignition back up to it.
sweet.

Well I hope it is fuses and nothing more like a computer.. I will take all of them out and check them...I really hope I can get this figured out..if not I will not go to sleep with my car outside. And another thing when I hooked up ignition ground, and 12v to my alarm everything worked fine.....But the dome lights are not working or the headlights are not working...

This car is making an a** out of me. I repositioned the fuse..and I got the radio..keysense..headlights..and dome lights working but now the igntion won't engage like it was before this stuff started working. I've checked all of the large fuses under the hood for continuity..I can't really think of nothing else to try. Maybe now I need to have the car jumped or something..but the dash lights are dim..but it sometimes does this until I start it up and get on the gas. Anyone have any ideas?
