Hey guys,
Looking for what people are recommeding these days. Going to be pikcing up my (new to me) 95 Yukon in a few days and want to know what brand (besides DEI) of alarm could be used. Not going to need remote start, but I'm thinking an FM 2 way would be a nice touch. Any input would be appreciated.

That will probably come down to a personal decision.  I have been with OMEGA, DEI, AUDIOVOX, MICRO, CLIFFORD, CRIME STOPPER, etc. to name a few, since their beginning (YES I am an OLD FART).....I have seen some Excellent products from manufacturers that they discontinue and I have seen JUNK that they insist on keeping on the market.
Just research what you want the Alarm to do for you and check the Manufacturers reputation & WARRANTY.............

I was considering something from clifford or viper but they are DEI and those are the most popular. I've also heard and read good things about compustar. I'd rather have a good fucntioning alarm system that slows a theif down (or makes them not try anything and move on) than something that's got a popular name.

take a look at the Clifford Matrix 2.5...... it's not just a name... there is a reason Clifford has been known for years as one of the best brands in the biz....

My vote goes to the Compustar 2W8000S security only 2 way system.

Well, I wasn't knocking clifford or DEI at all. My last few cars have had python and viper alarms and my father swears by clifford (and has been using them since the 80's). I just wanted to know of any other brands that could be recommended. Just trying to be different I guess. I guess I should mention that I'm going to be installing this myself. Any place online I could check out (and possibly purchase) the compustar or autostart alarm systems? Is there anything else I would need to know? It doesn't have any kind of keyless entry or anything of the sort. Any helpful hints on that aspect of it would be appreciated.
