Hey guys, I'm getting ready to install my 2WSS-AS in my 2004 Colorado. I already have some pictures and stuff of how to hook the alarm itself up, but I have a couple of other questions. The truck is a manual so I'm a bit hazy on how to bypass the clutch. Also, where do I wire in my bypass? I got the 555L from DEI and it looks like theres only 2 wires to hook up to the truck itself.

The yellow wire at the clutch switch needs a negative "start pulse"

A negative signal that cycles with the starter....This is how astroflex does it. Read the compustar install manual,

they'll give you details

Im glad your using a system thats designed for manual trans, unlike some other fools  I've seen post on this site!

Take your time....

Ok cool, thanks for the help. Can you help me out on wiring up my passlock bypass? I'm not sure which wires i'm supposed to tap into, and where the best place is to tap into them. I looked at the BCM module on the truck and there's several wires there, but I couldn't find the wires listed in the booklet for the bypass.

Page 3-4 is the passlock bypass conection diagram you want to work with.
Locate the wire running down the key cylinder in your vehicle. Only three wire. Page 4. cut and connect.
Page 3, connect all the wire that is require for PASSLOCK II.
Page 5 is to learn the r-code, start car for 5 second, shut down. Done! Now do remote start.

Is the best place to put the bypass then someplace up underneath the dash where it can be hidden and only accessed when most of the dash is removed?

Correct. Keeping the bypass hidden is a good thing so that it doesn't compromise the security of your vehicle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that the 555L will work with the new GM's with the key sense, second ignition, starter, and Passlock resistance all in one wire. I use the PLXR on these ION based vehicles and it works like a champ.

You are correct Jeff. Miss this one. It's got the five wire connector and not listed for use in 2004 Colorado.

Thanks for checking this. I'm not a DEI dealer but I didn't think they had anything for these vehicles yet. Thanks again for checking.

I am not a DEI dealer either so I when along with the given infomation, but I do know that Astroflex has the bypass for it and it's simple to do.
As Jeff indicated PLXR is the correct module to use.
