Car starts but dies after 2 sec

NO you won't need that. Tach signal. Have the tach been learned? Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

did you hook up both ignition wires? there should be a BLACK/ red and a BLACK / YELLOW wire. if you dont have both hooked up that could be your problem right there. you also mentioned turning up the voltage? so im assuming using a tachless mode with the remote starter?, DEI unite are pretty consistant with working in tachless, however it wouldnt hurt to hook it up in tach mode, and grabbing the tach wire. On the 4 cylinder motor use the black wire in the gray plug at the coil on the drivers side of the motor. On the 6 cylinder motor use the gray wire located at the ignitor on a bracket just in front of the strut tower. The module says Denso on it. P.S. a good way to tell if your missing an ignition wire is to put the key in the ignition (dont turn it), remote start the car and as soon as the car cranks, turn the key forward and if the car stays running then you know your missing an ignition wire! and no, you dont need an immobilizer bypass for that year camry.Mike Battaglia

go into the diagonsric shut down menu feature. It will tell you if it is a tach prob, ign, or +/- saftey shutdown.
