Hi all
Be nice i am new.....
I have fitted a RHINO RA alarm to my Ford (Mercury) Capri 1993 XR2... I am having big problems with the door locks...The doors have switches in each door console .the ,otors are both slaves and they both work of each button eg lock with one locks both..they work on a reverse power principle eg lock supplies pos and neg to the motor..unlock suplies the power opposite....
My problem is i use the -ve unlock/lock signal for the locking of the doors ....i have used the 4 relay setup that i found on this site......when i use an earth i select the doors lock and unlock but when i use the alarms trigger it is not powerful enough to latch the relays long enough to power the door locks.....help me please i do not want to put a central locking kit in and loose my switch control i want to keep it original
thanks

if you look in the vehicle wiring pages on this site the mercury capri 1993 needs an actuator in the drivers door then you use a reverse polarity relay setup so your alarm will drive the actuator you only need to add the actuator in the drivers door so that when the actuator pushes the lock rod the passenger door opens not sure why you decided to use the 4 relay setup? good luck

I would say it quotes that cause the mercury does not have locking central switched in the USA model????
mine has slave motors that operate off a switch and the lock unlock wires are pink/black and pink orange

those two wires rest at nothing and they control both doors

ok after checking the locking configurations it sounds like your first relay config was correct cause you said it worked but only if you used a strong ground so although this sounds a little over the top you need to use 2 more relays to strengthen the lock unlock outputs or if it truly only needs a longer output then most alarms will allow you to extend the lock/unlock output from less than a second to about 3.5 seconds to accomadate the vaccum locks on a merc hope this helps don't think the 5 wire configuration will work cause for it to work the pinks need to rest at something let me know how you go and good luck
