My bright headlights will go off randomally. It even does this when the truck is off and not moving. They go off for 5-15 seconds and then come back on automatically. When the brights fail, the dims still work. I noticed this after I installed a black widow alarm/remote start (bw-z1), however, it may be completely unrelated as I hadn't used the brights in a while. Also, the only headlight related wire I touched was the park light wire in the light on/off switch although I wouldn't figure this would be the problem since the dim lights still work when the brights fail. Any ideas what is wrong or if it is even my install? Thanks.

My lil brother had the same problem on his car, an 87 monte carlo. It ended up being his high beam switch. His high beams and low beams would come on and off erratically as he was driving.

I had the same problem on a 92 Olds Acheiva I used to drive; caused me a failed state inspection once.  Replaced the switch for the turn signal/headlight stalk and all was well.   Sounds like just coincidence that this happened after the alarm install.
Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
