I have installed the Viper 771XV Alarm/Remote Start in my 2001 Toyota 4runner and I am having some problems.  The keyless entry portion of the unit works great but for some reason I can't get the remote start to work at all.  I know there is an immobilizer unit that is made for my car but I removed the immobilizer!  I completely took out the brain along with the connecting wires and the car starts fine without the immobilizer chip.  Do I need to hook a wire to the keysense?  I never hooked up my Tach wire either (I couldn't find it) but I bypassed that by setting the alarm to read the voltage rather than the Tach.  Help!!! I am so close but so far away...

Nothing happens at all.  I even tried programming the unit so that you only have to press the * button once and to watch the voltage, but that didn't help at all.

I don't think it is the Key Sense:

Ign Key WarnYELLOW/RED (-)AT KEY CYLINDER SWITCH
Tach SignalBLACK OR BLUEAT ECM BEHIND PASSENGER SIDE DASH
When you Remote Start, does the Viper show output to the Starter & Ignition?  Or does it not make any noise?

I did this one time when i had a huge hang over, i did a ouple bad sodders and the connections to the remote harness weren't good. Nothing happend. Take a Muilty Meter and test every wire and you could have also connected the wrong wire as well.

Double check that none of the shutdown inputs are active:  GROUND at 22 ga. Gray hood pin, 12V(+) at 22 ga. Brown brake input, or lack of GROUND at 22 ga. BLACK/ White remote start enable input (toggle switch input) will inhibit remote start activation.  Then confirm that you have Ignition (BLACK / YELLOW) AND 2nd Ignition (BLACK/ Red) connected to their respective relay satellite outputs.  A factory keysense is a possibility, but I wouldn't bet on it considering that in a normal installation in which the factory immobilizer is intact, the vehicle starts once the correct wires are energized and the bypass module's output signal is read, with no other "hard-wired" type of interface involved.

if nothing is happening and the keysless works then the black with a white stripe is probably not grounded
