Hello, i have a python 880xp alarm/car starter. Im installing the DEI 688M neutral safety module.

Every thing is connected, but one wire that i need to know were it goes.

Blue wire - Negative ingition from car starter.

(on the blue wire itself it has a sticker on it that reads quote: "Warning! This wire must be connected to a negative ingition only! Do not connect to the status wire of the remote car starter. Do not share the ground feeding this wire with any other device. It must be connected as a "stand alone" only!"

Thanks

Daniel

ALL of the DEI instructions are written for people who have done HUNDEREDS of installs...I think they stink for the newbie or the "not so skilled" installer....I've been doin this for 20 years.....and some of the DEI stuff don't make sence to me!   Vague at best.............DEI

OK, Im ready for the crap............

I was just looking at my alarm install manual and i have some wires that i think it may go to but im not sure.

Remote Start Harness (H3)

1 - Blue:   (-) Status/Factory Security Rearm Output               (((I dont think i should connect it to this sence it states on the 688m ("Do not connect to the status wire of the remote car starter")))

2- Blue/Black:  (-) 200mA Optional Third Ignition Output                  (((Should i connect it to this? this was my closest guess but i dont want to short anything out.)))

on your relay pack there's a small 4 pin harness, connect the blue wire on the 688m to the pink wire on that harness...

oh, if it's an older style with the exposed relays, just connect it to the pink in the ribbon cable

I do have a ribbon cable with 5 wires. The pink wire is:

3 - Pink:  (-) 200mA Ignition Relay Turn-On             (((  So i should connected it to this wire? these seem to be all factory joints.  I just want to confirm that i do in fact connect it to this?)))

I also wanted to mention that it says on the 688m sticker on the blue wire, that i need to know were it goes "Do not share the ground feeding this wire with any other device. It must be connected as a "stand alone" only!" so can i connect to the ribbon cable still sence its already feeding the relay for the remote starter. im so confused heh

yes as mentioned connect it to the pink ign 3 relay turn on lead... this should be a free wire... it should also be on a 4 wire harness coming off the back of the XCSR pack
