I'm installing a viper 791xv and don't want to use the viper led.  How can I go about hooking up a Varad LED to the viper brain?  On my old alpine alarm, my varad led's worked fine.  the alarm just had a + output for the led.  The viper has a harness conected to the led, so there are two wires coming out of the brain straight to the led.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

The wires coming out of that alarm for the LED are at a preset length. These wires pulse a low 1.5V-3V DC to the led to flash it. Extending these wires will cause voltage loss and the LED will not work. I am unsure of a varad led but if it requires more than a 3V output I do not see any way of using it.

I should rewrite what I meant.

I already have two varad led's hooked up to my car through a relay from my old alarm.  I would like to know which wires coming out of the viper 791xv brain that I should use to power the relay that turns on the leds.  I don't want the blue led that DEI includes with the viper alarm.  I am going to cut the viper led off and want to know what the two wires output.  thanks in advance

is it best to not cut the viper led off?  Ideally I would like to see the flashes the viper brain would like to tell me, but not use the viper led.

Someone has got to have used aftermarket led's on a viper alarm.  I really just need to know what the two wires coming out of the brain for the led are outputing.  One wire is red and the other is blue.

Really? Mine seems to work fine with an extra 5 or so feet of wire on there..... that puts the driver's door LED in parallel with the passenger's door LED.
You have nothing to lose... try hooking up the Varad LED and seeing if it works. Red is positive, I believe.

gus1, are you using a relay to power the two led's?  I have the same setup as you: one led in the passenger door and one in the driver.  They are both installed and currently wired to a relay looking for a + output from the alarm brain.  Can I ground the blue wire and connect the red to my relay setup?
Or, are you not using a relay?
