My wife has a 2005 Tahoe with rear heat and air. We had a valet 554R installed during the spring. Well it is getting cold here in TN and she used the remote start today and realized the rear heat was not working. The rear heat was just blowing cold air. I told her when she got to work to cut the truck off and restart it with the key then try the heat. She done this and the heat worked fine. My question is should the heat not start working when the key is turned on. Also should the rear heat be working even if she remote starts the vehicle. The shop I had to install the system is know out of businnes, so if this is not to hard to fix I might be able to do it since I have the same valet in a 94 fullsize blazer that I installed myself.

Seems to me that whatever shop hookup ur unit, only tied in the heat to the front system and not both.If you can afford it,find a reputable shop and have them fix ur problem..

I appreciate the help. Do you not think that once turning the key on that the heat should start working even if you remote start the truck or am I looking at this wrong.

When you use the key,all the circuits in your vehicle are activated. When you remote start, only the cicuits that are programmed to activate will activate..

So even if I remote start the vehicle once the key is inserted and turned on then the heat should work correct. What is happening now is that even once the key is turned on the heat blows, but it is blowing cold airs. The truck has to be cut off and started with the key for the rear heat to work. I have a friend that has just started his own business doing some installs and is going to look into this for me. Thanks for all the help.
