I've ran into a problem that has never occured. While using a tachless alarm/start system the truck would time out and start as it should, however after it would run for 5-10 seconds it would shut down the alarm would reset, timeout and restart the truck. This happens the 3 programed times and the truck shuts down the last time and system arms. I checked all wires over and over. Even tried hooking it up on the tach/rpm program still the same thing happens. This truck doesn't have pats. Does anyone out there have any ideas that I may have missed. I used the green wire on the back of the insturment cluster as I always do.  thanks, Stiver

under the dash there is a factory harness wrapped with a piece of yellow tape to the left of the steering column called the body acceccory harness used for commercial applications that has a tach wire in it. (green also) that's the tach source i always use. try taking the fuses out of the unit or unplugging it altogether and let it reset, try reprogramming tach to that wire. if this doesn't work it's a defective module, bad ground, or bad install, because these are the easiest vehicles to do, in my opinion

Here in Canada the wire is sometimes WHITE/ green or GREEN / WHITE in the same aux location. If for some reason you cannot find this tach wire you can purchase a tach generator from a number of suppliers. I agree with custom, these are straight forward installs so check your wiring and do yourself a favour... alaways program tach on a diesel.

Hope this helps.
