does this have a passlock and what type is it. trying to hook up a remote starter

You may want to explore the possibility of using a Data Bus module , saves you from cutting the wires and believe me it's alot less headache GM Self Learning (ALL TYPES) Passlock Override - BypassKit.com

You will find it at the above link, but they are a bit pricey,look around and see if anyone sells it or one similar cheaper

Is this your own truck?I did mine(crew cab colorado) it was my first.I bought the bypass from bypasskit.com its model PLXR,easy to install learns the resistance.I wired everything right just had problems with programing(my own lack of experience.I have all my notes still and if you want to contact me,sign up a coloradofans.com and PM me.Same screen name there.

Your truck is a Passlock II hybrid. The vehicle doesn't have a regular starter wire. The vehicle will start when it recieves the correct Passlock signal on the WHITE/ blue wire and when the accessory wire (brown) loses power. I would also recommend the PLXR module and it must be used in mode 3. Make sure you get a module that will work on your truck as most Passlock modules won't, especially the ones that tap into the Class II data wire in the truck. One other note, use the thick orange wire located near the top of the driver's kick panel to main power and NOT the battery line in the ignition harness.

ty for the info... yes it is my own truck. i had a tech try to do it and he failed after 5 hours.
