Hi, I seem to have a ground feedback that is causing the siren to sound(very faintly) when the vehicle is running by remote start and the dome light comes on such as when I unlock the door.  I have my dome light relay, lock relay, and unlock relay ground wires all tied to the same ground as the system.  Is this causing a feedback?  Do I need to have each relay ground to a separate sheet metal screw or what else could be causing the siren to sound?  It is really quiet when it does and only when the dome comes on while vehicle running.  Thanks!

The Siren is ground to a mounting screw I placed under the hood.  It is ground by itself so should not be the problem.

Its in my topic, 2000 dodge durango, with Alert 750R installed.  I believe it is a bad ground causing feedback, I will have to do some poking around on Monday.

Hi, I have been asking about this for a little while now and it still has me stumped.  When I remote start my vehicle I can here the siren under the hood.  It is very quiet but I can still here it.  So I tested the red wire of the siren and it shows .46 volts when I push the transmitter button to remote start.  Then after the vehicle has started the sren gets 2.46 volts and thats when I hear the siren.

It does not matter if the doors are locked or unlocked, if the dome light is on or off.  It does this all the time.  What I want an answer on is do I have a ground loop???

I have the main ground wire from system, and the ground wires from dome light relay and door lock/unlock relays tied together and screwed into frame under dash.  Is this good or do I need a separate screw for each of the four wires I have grounded?

This is a 2000 Dodge Durango, and Alert 750R alarm and remote starter system.

Most of the time when the siren is very faint but you can hear it, it seems to be a ground issue. As long as you have a good ground, then you should not need to worry about separating them. Has it done it the whole time you have has it installed or has it sarted recently?   You could take your multimeter and do a check on your ground on the main unit plug to the metal that your ground is hooked to to see if you have a loss. (or more resistance)

I did not hear this the first week I had it in but then it seems to have started.  I will be able to take it apart again on Friday so I will check my ground on the system and check for another location.  This siren ground right now is not connected to anything else.

Are you having the same problem in the same model?  I have Alert tech's working on possable causes.  Tehy are all saying to check my ground locations and see what the resistance is.  I don't think this is the problem.
