Hi Everyone,  I installed a Viper 791XV on my 96 Z28 Camaro and every feature on the alarm side works perfectly, my dilemma with the remote start.  When I try to start my car with the key it doesn't turn over, however the starter "clicks" like you are trying to start it with a low battery.  It does the same thing when I try to remote start it, the remote start does go thru normal start sequence though.  If I go in and change the anti-grind feature to off in the features menu the remote start works perfectly, but it still won't start with the key.  I've checked all the connections and wires over and again and they are solid.  My V.A.T.S bypass I built with the proper resistor works correctly and did the tach learning and that is fine.  It seems to me it has something to do with the anti-grind/starter kill connection.

Here are how my wires from the remote start satellite are connected:

Green-yellow starter wire on the key side

Purple-yellow starter wire on the starter side

(2) 12V constant- red wire in the ignition harness; both connect to the same wire since there is only one

Orange-brown accessory in the ignition harness

Pink-Pink ignition wire

Pink/White-orange 2nd ignition wire

I’m stumped! Any input appreciated, thanks in advance for your help.

the orange wire on the 12 pin harness do you have that hooked up to anything?  If it's grounded then unground it.  That will cause the problem you're having since that will cause the starter kill to always be engaged.  Double check the connections on the purple and green wires one of them might be loose.

The orange wire on the 12 pin harness is not hooked up to anything.  The connections on the purple and green wires from the remote start satellite are tight and secure.

The the only thing I can think of is try reversing the purple and green wires.  It is rare but I have run into 1 or 2 relay packs that the wires were reversed on.

see how you have the 2nd ignition wire from the remote start brain connected to orange, change this to accessory wire from the brain and scrap the brown wire it is not needed, it might work

but the orange is neccesary for remote start in this vehicle, just a suggestion

thats true, but I would start by properly wiring up the wires in the ignition harness first
