False Alarms With Fords

For those of you who are having false alarms with Fords that have the GEM that shuts down the battery voltage to your door pin switches and such, I found an easier way than to run all of these diodes to each an every individual door pin. I had the same problem with a Crimestopper alarm. I called technical support, and talked to Larry, who seemed very knowledgeable on this subject. He told me of a very simple fix. He said that if I had a light down in the driver's kick panel that came on when EVERY door was opened, all I had to do was wire a relay into that. If I didn't have the light, I could wire into the dome light, and it would take care of the problem. Here is what you do: Take your relay and run 87 to your (-) door trigger input on your alarm. Number 30 goes to your ground. Then take 85 and 86, and run one to each side of the light (one + and one -). This will cure your problem, rather than having to wire 2 diodes in line for every single door pin switch. If you do not have the light near the floor by the driver's kick panle that turns on when EVERY door is opened, then use the dome light that comes on when EVERY door is opened. Remember to check each door {b}separately{/b] to make sure that it triggers this light. You may have to give it a few seconds for th elight to shut off if you have a delayed dome light. This makes it so much easier than the other way I have read.Here is what you do: If anyone needs it, I have the PDF file that shows how to wire this relay, but hopefully I detalied my description well enough. been doing this for a long time now. no relay though, every alarm i've installed has both positive or negative door trigger inputs. only flaw this has is you will pick up the dome light delay on a lot of the newer vehicles. i.e - when you shut the door, the domelight stays on for X amount of seconds before shutting off.
